Government of Canada: Even More Translation Issues

Once again, the Canadian Government failed to provide its French-speaking citizens with properly translated content.

Indeed, despite the numerous complaints lodged to the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, the problem isn’t solved yet.

This week, ONfr was quick to point an absurd translation posted to the French version of buyandsell.gc.ca.

For francophone communities across Canada, this doesn’t come as a surprise. For years, news outlets have covered the numerous faulty translations provided by the Canadian Government and Federal Parties.

Recently, the satire television show Infoman posted on its Facebook page a letter sent by the Federal Liberal Party to its members. The letter written in French failed to impress. Excluding the numerous grammar errors, the most important issue is that this letter isn’t written in proper French making it virtually impossible to understand.
